Volunteering

“Bringing nature and people together” is at the heart of what we do and how better to do it than through volunteering.

You don't need to have practical skills or be an expert to help - giving you time is your contribution. Our rangers and specialist partners can provide activities, tasks and appropriate training so that making a difference is fun, safe, informative and above all, sociable.

News of specific events and activities are posted on this website and on social media and tend to take place at  Bodwannick Manor Farm,  Home Farm Marsh and Treraven Farm Nature Reserve. As our activities develop, further information will become available.

At Bodwannick Manor Farm and Treraven Farm Nature Reserve we hold regular countryside management volunteering activities organised with community health and wellbeing partner organisations such as the Bodmin Foyer, Bodmin Hospital's Bowman Unit, Rethink South West, and Growing Wild in Cornwall.

If you would like to support our activities, we would love to hear from you. You can also discover more about what is happening at Home Farm Marsh or Treraven Farm by visiting, or contacting our site rangers.

Some of the volunteer tasks at Treraven Farm

  • surveying, monitoring and researching birds, reptiles, insects, mammals, plants, soils, water and ecosystems
  • leading a nature walk or creative nature event
  • helping to make new forest school areas, edible forest and inclusive nature gardens
  • helping to manage woodlands
  • mending and maintaining paths, gates, stiles and signs
  • fundraising, PR, taking photographs of events, wildlife or landscapes for website and posters
Membership?

We are not a membership organisation, but we do work in partnership
with other volunteer run organisations to undertake specialist survey work and run themed events. For example, at Chark Moor, volunteers from Cornwall Butterfly Conservation have helped clear scrub and survey the site for the rare marsh fritillary butterfly, whilst volunteers from the Cornwall Mammal Group are also helping with site surveys.

Your help in spreading knowledge and support for what we do in your local community, through volunteering or through fundraising activities is invaluable.
